The Political Divide of the United States of America

The media bias is real. Nowadays it is so difficult to just get unbiased, simply factual news on the happenings of the world. I do the best that a teenage girl can do to do my research on issues to form my own political opinions, but then I look around at my fellow teens to find them not even trying to do the same.
We have a real issue in our society. People are mindlessly being spoon-fed a pre-conceived and well planned out media bias whether it be liberal or conservative, Republican or Democrat, black or white and it is benefitting the politicians, the lobbyists, and the corporations.
I have written this blog-post to denounce the two-party system and deem it to be a failure in the makings of our country.
The Founding Fathers did not intend on the creations of political parties playing a major role in government. They expected that constitutional provisions such as the separation of powers, checks and balances, federalism, and indirect elections of the president by an electrical college would deter the formations of parties....FAIL.

I believe that a divided incoherent party system means:
-no one is really in charge
-no one takes responsibility for their actions
-each party always resorts to blaming the other for their failures and limitations of government

It is impossible for the Republicans and Democrats to properly function together because our incohesive political party system is like a coin. On one face of the coin you have the Republican Party, the Democratic Party on the other, and on the very thin outer edge are all of the other third parties. Because we only have two major parties, we only have two generalized views in power. They polarize each other, like the sides of a coin. Each presidential election is like a game of heads or tails (not heads and tails) deciding which party will be in power. We need more parties with more specific goals to represent the needs and views of the American people to balance out these polarized views, then multiple parties can form coalitions and work together.
